Doctors

DR STEPHEN SCOTT

MB ChB FRCGP DTM&H DipMedEd.

Dr Scott joined the practice in 2002. He qualified at The University of Birmingham in 1984. After qualifying he joined the RAF as a Medical Officer (Squadron Leader) and then spent time with his wife and family in Nepal before returning to Dorchester in 1999. Dr Scott is an appraiser for Health Education England to assist GPs in their continuing development. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of GPs in 2014 for his work in Nepal and the Revalidation and Appraisal Service. Dr Scott performs minor surgical procedures for practices around Dorset in our purpose-built operating suite in the practice.

DR JOHN ROBERTSON

MB BS 1999, MRCP 2002, MRCGP 2006

Dr Johnny Robertson has been a partner at Prince of Wales Surgery since May 2016. He trained at St Georges Hospital Medical School in London qualifying in 1999. He spent 3 years as a respiratory registrar before training as a GP in 2005 in Bristol where he was a Partner in the practice until moving to Dorchester in 2016. As a GP he is interested in all areas of medicine but has a particular interest in respiratory problems. I also provide minor surgery services to practices with in the Dorset area. He is also a GP trainer supervising GP registrars in the practice. His surgeries are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

DR LARA WEAR

MRCGP 2015, DCH (SA) 2011, MB BS 2007, BSc (Physiology) 2005

Dr Wear is a GP Partner in the practice. She trained at Imperial College London, qualifying in 2007. Dr Wear also has a Diploma in Child Health after working in paediatrics for 2 years in South Africa. She has worked in Dorset since 2012, starting at Dorset County Hospital and has been working in General Practice since 2014. Dr Wear is a GP Trainer, supervising GP trainees in the practice. She also works in the Out of Hours Service.

DR MICHAEL LEWIS

BM BMedSci

Dr Lewis joined the practice as a salaried doctor in April 2020 and became a Partner in September 2021. He trained at Southampton qualifying 2012. Having spent a year working abroad with his wife and subsequently with the infectious diseases team in Leicester he undertook GP training in Dorset where he has continued to practice. His working days are: Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

DR MAMIA JAPARDIZE-RICHARDS

Dr Japardize-Richards has joined the practice as salaried GP. He has worked for us over many years as a locum GP so some of you may be familiar with him.

DR SETAREH CHAVOUSHI

Dr Chavoushi has joined us as a salaried GP. She has worked for us in the past as a locum GP.

DR HAZEL ROBINSON

Dr Robinson has joined us as a salaried GP to cover Dr Wear whilst she is on maternity leave

GP Registrars

DR SRINKHALA LIMBU

Dr Limbu has joined us as our GP Registrar and he will remain with us until February 2023.

Nurses

The Surgery employs four Practice Nurses, who will also provide specialist advice and treatment for Diabetes, Asthma, COPD and CHD, as well as a Health Care Assistant and Phlebotomist

NATASHA CARIKAS

Lead Nurse

Natasha has recently joined us and comes with a wealth of experience within General Practice and Primary Care with a special interest in diabetes management. Natasha is able to prescribe certain medications and manage minor ailments.

LINDA SKINNER

Linda is a qualified nurse who has a experience within General Practice. She assists the GPs with the vasectomy clinic and the minor surgery clinic. She also has her own clinic sessions taking blood, spirometry, ECG, dressing etc.

In addition to the management team we also employ eight reception & four administration assistants.

Attached Staff

We have a the District Nurse Team for Dorchester based in Frederick Treves House and the Health Visitor Team. The Primary Health Care Team includes the following who hold clinics at the Practice: Midwife Frederick Treves House is also host to a number of Dorset Healthcare Services, such as Musculoskeletal Services, Pain Clinic, Continence Clinic, Warfarin (INR) Clinic, Dermatology and Podiatry. These services are managed by DHUFT and not by the practice, although the practice will check patients in for some of the services. You should be notified if you need to report to reception in the appointment letter that is sent out to you otherwise please take a seat in the waiting room.
